Red Wing Campus and Community

Close to a number of transfer colleges in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, the Red Wing campus is perched above the Mississippi River. Arts and culture flourish in this small town, which is home to , the and . The town is also noted as the home of and . You can fish and boat on the big river, ski at nearby resorts, bike on the Cannon Valley Trail, enjoy area trout streams, watch for eagles on our dramatic bluffs, or sip a latte in our historic red brick downtown. The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul are an easy 50 minute drive away.

The Red Wing campus is located about 3 miles south of downtown at the corner of Highway 58 and Pioneer Trail (directions). There are classroom spaces, large musical instrument repair and nursing simulation labs, a bookstore, Learning Resource Center and the Student Commons. 

MSC Southeast does not offer housing on campus. Most students from out of town must rely on privately owned rental housing. We recommend that incoming students arrange for housing well in advance of the start of classes. The college does not assume any liability arising from the relationship between landlord and tenant. If you need assistance in paying for child care, a Minnesota Child Care Grant may be available. Please review the grant information on our Financial Aid/Grants page, or contact the Financial Aid office for more details.

While most students rely on cars or bikes to get around, the Red Wing campus is also served by established bus service routes through . Check their website for schedule and service map. NEW! MSC students ride FREE with Student ID!

Many students choose to work while in college. There are numerous restaurants and coffee shops in Red Wing, as well as factories and larger companies such as Red Wing Shoes, Bic/Norwood and Capital Safety. Check our Career Services Job Postings page for openings.

Work Study: Eligible students may have the opportunity to participate in work study programs on campus. These are part-time jobs that may relate to the student's field of study. There are both state and federally funded programs that allow students to work 5 to 20 hours a week. Be sure to fill out the FAFSA and contact the Financial Aid office if you are interested.
